Johnson is a seasoned executive as well as data and AI practitioner with over 15 years of
leadership experience across both public and private sectors. He currently serves as
Assistant Chief Executive at the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), where he plays
a key role in shaping Singapore’s digital future and advancing the digital economy.
In the private sector, Johnson has held senior roles in regional banking and global
consulting, including Group Chief Data Officer, Group Head of Enterprise AI and Analytics
Technology and earlier, Chief Data Scientist (ASEAN) respectively.
Beyond his executive roles, Johnson contributes to academia as an Adjunct Faculty at
Singapore Management University (SMU) and a Principal Fellow at the Singapore University of
Technology and Design (SUTD).
