Ms Madiepetsane Charlotte Lobe is the High Commissioner of the Republic of South Africa to the Republic of Singapore, where she represents South Africa across diplomatic, political, economic, social and cultural spheres. A diplomat, public leader, author and advocate for women’s leadership and economic inclusion, she brings to her diplomatic work extensive experience in government, legislation, international relations, governance, gender equality, peace and security, and development. In Singapore, High Commissioner Lobe serves as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Africa Singapore Business Forum (ASBF), Patron of the South African Business Chamber in Singapore, Patron of the International Women’s Federation of Commerce and Industry, South Africa (IWFCI-SA), and Patron of Fixing Each Other’s Crowns. Her work has focused particularly on strengthening South Africa–Singapore relations, advancing Africa–Asia partnerships, promoting women’s economic empowerment, and creating platforms for greater cooperation between business, government and civil society.
